Kinja'd!!!

I want a long road trip across the country or maybe a trip to Britain.

My girlfriend on the other hand, wants somthething exotic, S. America(from Mexico to Brazil, Colombia etc.) or SE Asia(Thailand, the Philippines etc.).

Not sure what's better.

Combine the two - do a top-gear style adventure where you have to buy a cheap car and go on a number of challenges in a tropical locale.

do something all inclusive on a Caribbean Island. Free, all you can put down food and booze. Many of the islands have motor related excursions you can take. We rented Jeeps in Aruba (well not jeeps i think they were Samuri's) There is no better car to offroad than some else's. Aruba is small like the size of Rhode Island. There are a ton of other things to do too. Also going somewhere like that will make ur chick happy and if shes happy you can kinda figure how that works when it comes time to go to bed.......

Those things are not as easy as they seem. The 3 clowns from TG have a whole crew who helps them and prepares the locations.

A lot of friends have done Thailand-Cambodia, some 2-3 times all say it is the best trip they've been on.

Doing that for a road trip in North America is one thing, in a 3rd world, non-English speaking country it could be disastrous.

If you can, Rent a car somewhere in Europe, and then drive down to the coast. You could even do the whole thing in France, and drive the Route Napolean. (This reduces the issues with renting a car and travelling over international boundaries)

Personally, I am planning a trip from Munich to Croatia, through the alps, and some of those fantastic, and then hit Modena and Bologna down to the coast.

It will not be cheap, but you only live once!

The world is an amazing place. Go see it. It really just depends on the mood you are in. Adventure or relaxation. Do you mind if you can speak the language or not? My first go toos when someone says they want to go on a trip are Tokyo or the south of France. Great times can be had in both locations. AirBnB or hostels can save you money if that is an issue.

Then don't go up and down mountains and through dense forests. Think of easier ones like.......Find an american candy bar in a local store. Use your imagination as well as common sense.
